I am excited to share a book with you that touches me to my core. My sister and her husband have shared their story about their fight against Ebola. The Brantlys' book - which comes out today - reminds us to love our neighbor and remember that love triumphs over fear. From serving as medical missionaries in Liberia to being the voice of truth and love for Ebola-stricken West Africans, Kent and Amber have shown me what it means to lay down my life for others.
The week described in their new book is one that will always be remembered in our family. Kent got sick several days before our son Samuel was born. The day he arrived in the States my brother and his fiancé were married - and my dad did the wedding. Did I mention that my dad's birthday was that week as well? Quite an emotional rollercoaster that week to say the least.
We are thrilled to have Kent with us. For us, the week ended in a great celebration, but for many in West Africa, that was not the case. We join Kent and Amber in prayer as the fight against Ebola continues. I am honored to know them and call them family, and I encourage you to take their story to heart.
