It's that time of year. Decorating trees, hanging lights, singing carols, and...going to the land of the Bible! That's right, we are gearing up to engage the Bible in the land where it took place, getting ready to walk the ancient paths and learn from those who have gone before us.
Leading groups like this is such a joy; I love watching people's eyes light up as the stories that they have grown up hearing come to life. Traveling in the land provides a full sensory learning experience where a person's entire body, soul, and heart are transformed. This is the time when one actually learns to truly see with new eyes and hear with new ears as the Biblical world unfolds.
A new adventure begins Sunday, and though the trip will end after a couple of weeks, G-D will continue to transform us more into the image of His Son Jesus. Walking where Jesus walked gives flesh and blood to the words on the page. It's my hope and prayer that just as Jesus - the Word - became flesh, we also will be the hands and feet of a G-D who loves all of His Creation and is reconciling it all to Himself.
It's that time of year. Time to be changed!
